Ok people, how is everyone! Just here to ask a few questions. Im am kinda new to the Jeep thing!
First off I love my Jeep
Secondly I dont like its slowness!! Its a 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.0L
Any help would be appreciated. I have some skill mechanically( well I can bolt on some stuff??) Im not looking for tire spinning performance just some added pep! (This is the primary family vehicle so reliability is very important! Bud bad azz sound is OK!!! :D
And if anyone could give me some other links to check out any parts sites or misc. Jeep info that would be great!

I am on a budget and cant do a lot at one time, so free or close to free mods would be best !!!! Budget kills ya everytime!

Thanks

ok first off, for exhaust (bad azz sound=exhaust, right? ) contact kolak@aol.com. he has everything you could ever want for anything that has to do with the letters zj or wj. 2nd) Intake. There are lots of options out there, but a free/almost free mod (like i did on my older zj) is to cut the flap off of the scoop thing that goes into the airbox. (Thats the way it is on my zj, don't know about wj) Another thing is to buy a drop in K&N, if you don't want to buy a full-blown intake. If you do want a brand new high flowing intake, may want to check out the rock-it or rusty's airtube. Also you may want to look at a throttlebody spacer, but that provides minimal gains, and there's been some controversy over their effectiveness. Another thing is an A.S.E. chip. I'm pretty sure they make it for the 4.0, but i'm positive they make it for the 4.7. Umm you could always supercharge it or buy a stroker kit, but being the primary family car, i dont know if that'd be such a great idea. But i'd do it. Those are most of the options i can think of right now. Did i miss something?

I was definitly thinking of going for the full intake tube and all. I just have to run the safe side beign the family car and all, and living in New England, all the adverse weather in the winter.
As for the chip, does anyone have experience with that, I read somewhere that you will have to run premium gas at all times? But it increases your gas mileage by a bit? Is that true cause I dont want to spend more on gas and still suck throufgh a half tank in moments, Id like to at least get more than 2 moments out of it :? So if it gets better gas mileage my general operating costs will be very similar at least!

Thanks

You have to use premium gas with the performance chip although it will increase your mileage. The reason for it is that it advances spark timing, and you'd get a lot of pinging/bogs with lower grade gases.
