My blower fan is running continuously and I've been told it might be the resistor or relay. Has anyone dealt with this on a 95 zj? Can you describe the parts and or location and where did you find replacement parts? Thanks in advance.

Is this an ATC or manual system?

A blower resistor can't prevent it from shutting off. That's solely a function of an on/off switch. When a resistor fails, you will only have high speed and nothing lower.

This is a manual system. When the switch is unplugged the fan shuts off, but I didn't know if a fix would be as simple as changing the switch. Maybe that isn't simple though as I'm not sure where I'd find a new speed control switch for a 95 (dealer?). Thanks for the replies thus far, any more info. would be appreciated.

The factory only sells the control head it is only serviced as an assembly.
Factory pn 55035964 it lists for $272.00
Don't shoot the messenger.Ill check my FSM wiring diagrams for a relay prob. when I get home from work.

The switch and resistor block are on the ground side of the blower motor.
The blower motor is fed from fuse 7, 40A from the PDC.
Just about any short to ground on the negative side will cause it not to shut off. This is according to the 96 ZJ FSM. Take a look at the blower resistor for a short to ground or some smoked wires to ground. Usually a switch if it works smooth hasn't been toasted. Bad rotary switches that turn normally will open, not fuse contacts together. The switch is a single pole quad throw.
Good luck.

Thanks for the info. I think I'll hold off on trying the switch replacement until I've exhausted all other options. I think I'll also try the junkyard route if I do end up replacing as a last resort.
