I have a problem. The Vehicle is a 98 TSI with the 4.0L of course and with the OBDII system. It has been stripped down, no cruse, abs, A/C. All components have been removed from the vehicle. The jeep will start and run and then shuts down. It runs great and you can even rev it up in the few seconds it is running then it dies. I have traced it down to the injectors not recieving a pulse from the computer. The Auto-Shutdown Relay and Fuel Pump relay shut off after it dies and there is still press in the fuel rail. I thought the CPS controled them so I replace it but no change.
Any help would be greatly appreaciated. A friend told me to try here for advise after a month of not having it running.
Thank you

Take a look at my other post on this forum, in this "Tech" section. Look under "it runs, then STOPS", I just got done with your problem! I put a new distributer in yesterday. Here is a little test for you...
Engine running, pull injector plugs one at a time, engine should kep running, but a little rougher. Pull Throttle position sens plug, engine will speed up a little at iddle, you can pull all of the plugs one at a time and the engine will keep running! Then, out of the blue.. BOOM-it stops running. Go to the link I started to mention. I went through everthing, even by passing the ASD relay before getting it in my head what was wrong.
Good luck...

I thought this might be the problem but it only runs for about 5 to 10 sec. I will give it a look tonight. I don't think there will be any oil (the jeep has 55,000 miles on it) but it did sit and might have gotten damaged.
Does any one have a manual handy that gives specs for testing the cam sensor?
Thanks
