i want to use a "stock" exhaust set-up with a performance muffler (cash flow problem). the pipes are all rusted and about ready to fall off, so they have to be replaced. i can afford to get a good muffler but not headers or anything like that.
my question is (finally), what muffler will fit in the same amount of space as a stock 1? i want a little better sound, but not obnoxious. any suggestions?

I used the stock pipes with my flowmaster. It sounds great. The flowmaster is much shorter than the stock muffler, so I had an extension welded in place to make it fit. It strong and I retained factory, pipes, I recntly just had the back custom bent to hug my TR skid. It was rubbing on the inside of my boggers. Gave me several mor inches clearance and I retained the factory exhaust tip.

flowmaster? series 40? 50? 70?
dynomax? any others i should consider???
what is gonna be the best?
i don't want to wake the dead :weapon: , but i want a little more than stock. what to do???
