GSE is a great place to learn what REAL wheelin' is all about... it was my first organized offroading event.

That setup would be perfect!! Just make sure you've got front and rear towpoints.

That's all your ZJ needs for stock trails. Add a CB radio, so you can communicate with everyone else when you are on the trail, and you will have a great time!

Disconnect the rear swaybar...I have never heard or seen this done...How and does it help...

I've never disconnected the rear sway and never had a reason to yet, I have heard of others doing this and if they were using the rear trac bar bracket it cracked under stress. So, I don't disconnect mine.

Wouldn't you have to remove the bar on a ZJ? For fear it'll come in contact with the tires?

On the WJ, it is mounted to the rear axle. I've disconnected it and bungied it out of the way. It'll never contact anything that way.

I run an addco rear - with the stock bar, I wouldn't bother. But my flex wasn't great with the rear bar attached, and the body movement was pretty harsh as the tires went up/down over stuff. I get a decent amount of lean though...so I'm looking into TK Sliderz.

Clayton,

are you going to let the girl drive the ZJ this year?

She was tons of help at Jeep101.

texaszj you were saying about not disconnecting your rear swaybar w/ the tb bracket. well i was wheeling this weekend and i had it flexed not even to the max(but close) and i heard a snap. the rear swaybar busted right on the outside of the frame where it comes out of the bushing. i never thought that would happen.

still gotta get the 8.8 under the zj
run lines for the arb
mount york compressor
move battery
mount air tank
install cb
add some limiting straps
more trimming
and maybe find a winch to fill that hole in the arb

good thing I am starting now

Update:

I'm going to Claytons on Saturday to pick up my front D44 and the 4.88's will be here soon.

Also, might have the high steer ready by GSE also.

Anyone know who has the best price on Spidertrax stuff? I need a pair of their 5x4.5 to 5x5.5 wheel adapters asap.
